Delete Your Zakatable Account
Last updated: June 15, 2026
This page explains how to delete your Zakatable account and the personal data associated with it, and what happens to that data when you do. It applies to the Zakatable mobile app and the Zakatable web portal.
How to request deletion
To delete your Zakatable account and the personal data associated with it, email [email protected] from the email address on your account, with the subject "Delete my account." We may ask you to verify your identity before we proceed.
We complete verified deletion requests within 30 days.
What is deleted
When your account is deleted, we permanently remove the personal data we hold about you, including:
- Your profile — name, email address, phone number, address, and preferences
- Your assistance applications and any documents you uploaded
- Your messages and community-help requests
- Saved locations and device / push-notification tokens
- Your sign-in account
What is retained, and for how long
To meet legal, accounting, and fraud-prevention obligations, we keep a limited set of records after your account is deleted:
- Donation and disbursement records (amounts and dates) that charities are legally required to retain — kept for the period required by law (for U.S. nonprofits, up to 7 years), then deleted.
- Backups — personal data persists in rolling backups for up to 30 days after deletion, then ages out.
- Anonymized or aggregated information that no longer identifies you.
Retained records are dissociated from your identity wherever possible and are not used to contact you.
